EPB Introduces New 5 Gig Internet Service for Chattanooga Homes |
The expansion gives residents another ultra-fast internet option as EPB continues building on Chattanooga's reputation as a gig city. |
EPB is once again raising the bar for internet speeds in Chattanooga with the launch of a new 5 Gig residential fiber service, giving customers another high-performance option for work, streaming, gaming, and connected homes.
The new service expands EPB's residential fiber lineup, which now ranges from 300 Mbps to 25 Gig. EPB says it remains the nation's only community-wide provider offering residential fiber speeds up to 25 Gig, continuing a reputation that began when Chattanooga became America's first "Gig City."
While most households won't need multi-gig speeds for everyday browsing, the new 5 Gig option is designed for homes with numerous connected devices, remote workers, content creators, competitive gamers, and families who regularly stream high-resolution video across multiple screens at once.
The announcement also reflects Chattanooga's continued investment in digital infrastructure. EPB's fiber network has attracted national attention over the past decade, helping position the city as a hub for technology companies, startups, and remote professionals.
For residents considering an upgrade, EPB says the new service is available throughout its fiber service area. Customers can compare plans and equipment requirements through the utility before deciding which speed best fits their household's needs. |
