Five Days of Bluegrass Across Downtown Chattanooga
Bluegrass takes center stage in Chattanooga October 20–24 as the International Bluegrass Music Association's World of Bluegrass brings musicians, industry professionals and fans together across downtown.
The five-day gathering combines a professional conference, emerging-artist showcases, an awards ceremony and performances for a broad audience.
Chattanooga is the host city for the gathering through 2027, giving the Scenic City an opportunity to welcome visiting artists and listeners while showcasing its venues and restaurants.
Conference and Evening Shows
The IBMA Business Conference runs Tuesday, October 20, through Thursday, October 22, at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
Musicians and industry participants can attend networking opportunities, workshops and sessions focused on the bluegrass business.
Evening Bluegrass Rambles take place Tuesday and Wednesday at venues around Chattanooga, featuring rising artists selected for performance showcases.
Schedules and ticket requirements vary by event, so visitors should confirm details with organizers.
Awards and Festival Performances
The 37th annual IBMA Music Awards are scheduled for Thursday, October 22, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium, with Sam Bush and Sierra Hull serving as hosts.
IBMA Bluegrass Live! follows Friday and Saturday, October 23–24, with performances across several venues.
The lineup includes Sierra Ferrell, Leftover Salmon, Larry Sparks, Della Mae and other established and emerging acts.
Some festival performances require tickets.
A Free Saturday for the Community
Pickin' in the Park is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at Miller Park and Miller Plaza.
The free outdoor celebration is designed to welcome families and casual listeners, with live music, food, crafts and vendors.
Youth and college bands are among the expected performers, expanding opportunities for newer musicians to be heard.
Because multiple large events are taking place downtown, attendees should allow extra time for parking and travel.
Why It Matters Locally
The event is more than a concert series: visitors may also spend time at local hotels, restaurants and shops.
For residents, this week offers several ways to experience bluegrass, from intimate venue showcases to major performances and a free park gathering.
Check current event schedules before attending, especially for venue assignments and ticketed sessions. |
