The dining lineup around Hamilton Place could gain another familiar name as Jonathan's Grille plans its second Chattanooga-area restaurant.

The Tennessee-based sports-bar chain is targeting Shallowford Road near the mall, an area already known for shopping, hotels and restaurants.

The planned site is in the 7000 block of Shallowford Road, close to the Hamilton Family YMCA.

The company already operates a restaurant on Camp Jordan Parkway in East Ridge, which opened in 2020.

Leaders of the family-run chain say the continuing growth of the Hamilton Place corridor made it an appealing location for another outlet.

The proposed restaurant is expected to have roughly 6,500 square feet and two outdoor patios.

Plans also call for a sports-focused interior with numerous televisions and a broad draft-beer selection.

The chain is known for casual dining, including pizza, sandwiches, salads and other menu options.

For nearby businesses, another restaurant may draw additional customers to a heavily traveled commercial district.

For diners, it would add another choice in a part of Chattanooga that already competes for lunch, dinner and game-day crowds.

The location is planned, not yet open, and construction and opening schedules should be checked as the project advances.

The operator has not provided a firm public opening date in the information currently available.

That makes this a business-development story rather than an immediate dining recommendation.

It is still a notable sign of confidence in the corridor's customer base.

423 Daily will watch for an opening announcement and further details as the project moves forward.
